The Score

... It's worth a mention that My last 2 seasons at the Royal Opera house, the music had been engineered by my amazing friend Acyde ...both seasons the music kicked ass.  AW11 was inspired by the composer Hans Zimmer who Acyde introduced me to,  he created the score for the Dark Knight an unbelievable minimal masterpeice

First Fashion East Season AW09

So I thought that the installation at Blacks was stressful....I was sooooo Wrong!.  This season I decided that I wanted to create an experience, I wanted to completely construct the room which I was given in the amazing crumbly house.  So I designed along with Selom, Wayne and Rori from Crystal vision this idea of building fake walls, painting them navy blue, and skewing the dimensions, so some walls leaned in, some leaned away, the corners were in unexpected places basically the opposite of a white square room.  It was a f*@!ing nightmare! we were the only ones building all night, it was me and a group of boys listening to some high energy bashment to get us through...

Spring Summer 08 Installation at Blacks

Before I got sponsorship from Fashion East, I showed independently.  This was my first installation at Blacks members Club on Dean street.  They very kindly leant me their space, and it was probably the most stressful thing I had ever done up to that point, not only is everything in the club antique, expensive AND my responsibility, but trying to invite people to a weird off schedule installation by someone at that point completely unknown... well stressful to say the least, real 'birthday party' fears.  As it happens people did show up including the beautiful Lulu Kennedy, who went on to be my biggest supporter... these are some pics of the event.  P.S the installation was built by the extremely talented Wayne Blythe and Selom Amoa

So here I am again... but with my tail between my legs.  After my triumphant start I failed to publish anything!!! ridiculous, I think I got performance anxiety.  So I have decided to post images of the Progress of Martine Rose throughout the seasons and go from there... I will look forward as I'm sure you will to me getting better at this stuff...her are a couple of images from my SS08 look book styled by the lovely Stephen Mann and shot by the equally Lovely Neil Bedford
